About the Legacy to Kids Podcast Host
Hi, I’m Jon Oleson, your host for the Legacy to Kids Podcast.
I grew up in a small town in Minnesota and was a curious kid. I’ve had many jobs including as a farm hand, camp councilor, basketball coach, pizza maker, milkman, railroad laborer, landscaper, house painter, teacher, school principal, church administrator, city council member, small business owner and an author.
As the host of the Legacy to Kids Podcast I’ll interview many guests who have different backgrounds and perspectives. The show will explore how what we’re doing now as Americans will determine what life will be like for all of us in the near and distant future. Our guests speak from their experience and offer to you the perspective they’ve gotten from their life’s path.
A significant aspect of our American culture has changed dramatically over the last couple of decades. We now live in a polarized, anger spewing environment unlike any period of modern American history – at least in my 7 decades. This environment is negatively affecting families, neighborhoods, organizations, work places, towns and cities, local to national governments.
Each one of us literally is shaping America’s future by what we model in front of our kids, kids in the neighborhood and beyond.
Listening to the Legacy to Kids Podcast will not give you answers. What you’ll discover as you listen to our podcasts is that taking the time and expending some thinking time to reflect on daily life dynamics, daily issues we encounter will help you decide for yourself what YOU can do. YOU will think of some ways you can refocus your life a bit to do your two bits worth to help your family, your community work better.
The Legacy to Kids Podcast episodes will feel like you’re overhearing a conversation. You’ll hear me and my guests looking at the day’s topic from different perspectives; open the topic up to curious examination.
